Dr. Bronner’s All-One Magic Foam Experience is a team of artists and performers—the Foamy Homies—who dance and blast all-natural foam at community events.

This sensory experience gives participants the freedom to respond by wiggling, screaming, laughing, and yes—washing their bodies.

Jim Bronner

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Foam Experience was created to honor the late Jim Bronner (son of Emanuel Bronner), who invented an industry-standard firefighting foam concentrate WD 881 in the 1980s. He later modified his foam to make artificial snow for Hollywood sets and even created a foaming unit for blasting snow-like foam in the backyard for his children.

The history of the Magic Foam Experience is a big part of its activation. Its expression has been a continuous evolution as it passed through different mechanisms and foam maestros, and we fondly honor and thank Jim Bronner for his invention.

how foaming works

The Foamy Homies blast foam on the participants and then rinse them off with water right after. This cleansing is an act of love and service. We care about the participants and want them to feel safe, loved and cleansed!

We bring the Magic Foam Experience—usually accompanied by our Magic Fire Truck—to beach parties, mud runs, music festivals, pride parades, and many other types of celebrations. What we love most is bringing the joy of foam to children in our community—to disadvantaged youth at after school programs, homeless shelters, to elementary and middle schools in San Diego County. We love to transform spaces and lives into temporary magical paradises covered in “SnoFoam.”

The orchestration of an experience for the sake of pure joy made a big impact on Mike and David Bronner when they were growing up with their father Jim. When David was searching for a way to balance the hard work behind the scenes of running a growing and cutting-edge progressive company with the expression of his inner being, he built a new foaming unit based on his dad’s design and launched Dr. Bronner’s event marketing department, the Magic Foam Experience, to spread joy to the world. The Magic Foam Experience continues to find new ways to serve the community and keep us connected to our inner child and to each other.
